All soil types absorb moisture to different degrees. To help you soil or potting mix retain moisture
you can use water crystals just a small quantity mixed with water ( follow the directions of the
manufacturer for the correct ratio) . After the water is absorbed add to your potting mix or soil.
Mulching will also help retain the moisture. Be sure to keep the mulch away from the trunk/stem
of the plants as this can cause rot.
